Chief Operating Officer - Alternative Energy

Role:
• Full P&L management across all business units
• Set and implement strategic five-year business plans
• Implement new processes and approaches
• Provide strong operational leadership
• Be accountable for enabling the efficient and effective governance of significant risk
• Ensure stringent regulatory compliance across the business
• Have overall responsibility for a wide variety of complex and innovative engineering projects
• Develop new and emerging growth markets in line with company expansion targets

Requirements:
• An inspirational industry leader/best in class professional
• Preferably degree qualified with an appropriate post graduate qualification (MBA, PhD, etc)
• Minimum of ten years’ experience within the renewable energy market (biofuels, energy-from-waste etc)
• Ability to demonstrate experience of efficient financial planning and analysis
• Extensive experience in the development and project management of major project teams
• Held senior leadership roles on a number of landmark renewable energy projects through the complete project lifecycle
• Have recent international experience of both established and developing energy markets

Managing Director - Operations, Europe & Africa

THE ROLE:
• This key board appointment is a superb opportunity for a high calibre, senior level operations specialist to make a major contribution to the growth and development of this fast paced and dynamic business.
• Reporting to the Global MD, with full P&L responsibility and overseeing a team of senior directors, you will be directly responsible for all operations across Europe and Africa.
• With complete operational effectiveness, you will ensure world class delivery across all operational areas - design, project management, health and safety, quality, customer support, procurement – you will have a broad and wide ranging remit to deliver world class performance in all these disciplines. Some regions you will leverage existing capabilities while others you will establish new world-class delivery teams.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
• Preferably a degree educated chartered engineer, you will be an accomplished operational manager with a strong background in a project/programme management.
• Experience of working closely with large OEM’s or end users would be advantageous.
• Commercially and strategically astute, you will have experience of contributing significantly to influencing business performance, profitability and direction.
• You will be well versed in project management methodologies, possessing a detailed understanding of multiple project life cycles delivering 100% on-time/on-budget. In short you will have the full mix of operational leadership capability that significantly impacts the bottom line.
• A person with high integrity, you will have strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills. The combination of your innovative, challenging and process driven mind-set along with your analytical, thorough and efficiency focused style will take the region to new levels. • Reporting directly to the board of directors, you will lead, motivate and develop a highly effective and efficient team with a focus on increasing profitability through the development of emerging markets.

• This role will require a high level of client interaction both here in the UK and internationally, establishing, building and maintaining relationships which will ensure that the business resources are continually able to exceed client demands, expectations and market changes.
